and family, left last evening on a viijX to
friends in Kansas City, Lawrence and Tonc
ka. Our friend, Dan Jones, 1 oir for Schuyl
kill, Pa., his old home, for a six week' visit
and a Thanksgiving. He hasiTt been back
for 1!) ears and the trip will be a great treat
no doubt.
Mr. A. Caldwell, with his family have ar

denco at the corner of Main and Eighteenth
street. Mr. C. is uncle to our fellow-citizen

D. J. Kellar an 1 family, of Leavenworth,
have arrived in our city to take up their

North Emporia avenue.
Mr. A. C. Brockaw called yesterday morn
ing and showed us a letter just receivou

elected by a handhomc majority over his
leading competitor. Hi thousand and one
friends here congratulate.
Judge Campbell hr.s decided to build a
residenco in the University addition on Men
tor avenue. It will be a to story frame
with ten rooms and mmio according to mod
ern .architecture. The co t is estimated at
$-1,500. Tt is probable that ork will begin
in a few days and the building rushed to
completion.
