Altcoueii the jury did not agree on a verdict for Miss Morrison, It cme near being an acquittal. There was one maa who stood out firmly against it, Joseph Nichols, and he thought that Jessie Morrison should be sen ie need for manslaughter in the fourth decree, the punishment for which is a term of from six months In jil to two years in the penitentiary. Two other jurors voted every time with Nichole. Jessie Morrison' case will new go over to the spring term of court, wht n there will be a new judge on the oencn, Judge Alkman, ani a nw county attorney, William Reese. In the meant me an application will be made for bond for Miss Morrison, and her cnances for release on bend are considered good. MONDAY. Eldorado was upset by the au nouncemeut that tue Morrison jury had come so near acquitting Jessie Morrison. The people of Eldorado who knew Clara Wiley Castle and Jessie Morrison cannot understand bow tbe jury failed to find a strong chain of circumstances proving that Jessie Morrison deliberately planned and coolly executed the brutal mur der of her hated rival. Jessie Morrison and Clara Wiley had been jealous of each other, be cause both loved Olin Castle. But the result of this rivalry was the mar riage of Castle to Clara Wiley. Dur ing the eight days of their wedded life it has never been shown that Jessie Morrison came into the life of either one of them until tbe morning of June 22. She wrote Castle no notes and did not go to see blm. To all appearances Clara Wiley had triumphed. To tbe wedding Jeesle Morrison was not invited. She was not sent an invitation to the jubila tion In tbe new home one week later. The next day tbe bride was killed. The people in Eldorado who know both women, know the facts and know the situation were shocked when they beard tbe result of the jury's deliberations. Friday nlebt the Eldorado Times. in flaming editorial, expressed disgust it th? re?u!; or tfe M"rnon trial, and tbe next morning there was a shattered glass window in the Times printing office. A stone twice the size of man's list was foand on the floor. The incident shows the in tensity of feeling over the Morrison cise. The paper's editorial column was led with the words: "Hide jour razor!" Other refer ences were "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"'.... "Prejudice, sympathy and Ignorance cut a wider swath with juries than facts." "It niust Lave been that the jury Imply did not gel the facts," faid a leading citizen" "Wuy, they al most acquittei hn!''
