Judging from the tone of some of the, notices given, it is strange that sn many of the newspapers of that sec tion know nothing of the large coal Ileitis lying in Coconino and Apache counties. These fields are the largest west of the continental divide, and will supply the I'acific coast for ages to come. In many placet the coal de posits are forty feet deep and twenty feet wide, and contains the best of coal for domestic purposes. These fields commence east of the Little Colorado river, and extend nonhead to the San Juan, covering many hundreds of square miles ol val uable coal lands. In eastern Apache county, north east of St. Johns, there are als-i laig coal Held which are inexhatist im. There i.; no need for Arizona to look ouUide of her own limits for a supply of fuel for the present or futuie. The reason that these coal deposits remain untouched is that they arc. at, present, too far from the railroad, and that there is but little demand for coal, beyond the supply now made from the (iallup coal fields. Willi greater demand roads will be built to the new source of supply, and Arizona, can supply the world with coal. How to Keep (.rape.
