Naugle of the Sonora railway is exacted to re turn home from the City of Mex ico about the loth inst. The long contemplated transfer of the trainmaster's office of the Sonora railway from Nogales to Guaymas is now announced to occur October loth. Mr. J. P. Polin, representing Francisco Tapia of Ilermosillo, has taken a grading contract on the Cananea, Yaqui it. Pacific railway extension, and has gone out to work with 100 teams. Last week Mr. M. F. Perry, man ager for the Charles Butters Com pany, at La Colorada, returned from San Francisco, where he went with Mrs. Perry in July. The lady is yet visiting in California. In Los Angeles, California, Sep tember 1st., Mr. Richard Finn of Minas Prietas was married to Miss Ethel Tupper Kennedy. Mr. Finn has fitted a home in Minas Prietas, to which he will bring his bride. Mr. E. B. Hoit of El Paso, Texas, has taken an exploration upon the old Apache Arrastras properties, in Altar district, out from Santa Ana, and is doing development work with a fine showing. He is getting rich gold ore. Last week Mr. George J. Mc Carty, general manager for the Creston-Colorada Mining Co., re turned to La Colorada from a trip to Chihuahua, City of Mexico, San Francisco and Denver, He had been ebsent since May. Mr. Luis Inigo, a mining en gineer of experience, who was gov ernment inspector of mines in So nora for many years, has opened an office in Car bo, and offers his services to all needing them. The gentleman is reliable and can be depended upon. Mr. S. W. Mudd, one of the lieutenants of the Guggenheims, has been out in the Boludo region making an examination of the properties outside of thoe of the Llano de Oro Co., owned by B. A. Freeman and associates of Los Angeles. Out in the Altar district the Llano de Oro Mining Co., develop ing the Boludo placers, near El Tiro, are building a new road directly between Trincheras, short ening the distance several miles. The new road is an elegant piece of work. The pipe line will be laid alongside. From Escalante station, south of Torres, comes the report that Yaqui Indians raided the Graphite mining camp, six miles from that place about a week ago and killed three men. The men murdered were the foreman and two top men at the graphite mine owned by Francisco Tapia. The mine is on a hillside and on the opposite side of the hill, about 300 yards away, is the large mine of the United State Graphite Com pany, in which are employed about sixty men, who heard nothing cf the killing till the Indians made their getaway.
