Saturday, l'Vbruiry to, ,;,( A LIVE ONE. It is significant that all those who turned traitor to Arizona and tire trying to load the people to ac cept joint statehood are ex-territorial or Federal otlicials, who have lung ago been put outside of the political breast-works of their party. Ex-Governor McCord, now in Washington, is a sample of those referred to. Douglas International American. The "antis" will find Governor McCord one of the liveliest politi cal corpses over whom there was ever held a newspaper postmortem. It is the fashion of chick-a-dee newspapers (living on crumbs fall ing from corporation tables) to hold frequent polical funerals. And they have large sized political graveyards. But to their great discomfort and consternation those graveyards are always yawning and the death walk forth. The animus of the extract is that McCord is now in Washington working effectively for the joint statehood bill in the Senate, show ing up continually the misrepre sentations of Mark Smith, Oakes Murphy, el al. And he is giving senators unanswerable argument why jointure should prevail. N. B. Since the foregoing was in type Governor McCord has been appointed collector of customs at Nogales. So our friends the "antis" have an object lesson al ready, The appointment is very good, and satisfactory. Z3SK3XX3&S3XZ3SgS2XX, mi Last Saturday Doctor A. II. Noon informed The Oasis that he was not the one who received the telegram from French announcing j the candidacy of that mal-odorousj individual for Collector of Customs. Doctor Noon has endorsed and is supporting Earl Griswold. The Oasis gladly presents these facts. we are oie leading distrinii" tors of men's Furnishings in the Southwest. This is quite a broad statement but we speak it frankly, because we know it's true. We are now closing out our stock of winter's goods to make room for Spring and Summer shipments. Come in and be convinced that our prices are below all others. WE DEFY COMPETITION. il THE Poor, old O'Brien Moore, in the Tucson Citizen continues to twaddle'about "treason," "traitors to Arizona," and all that sort of rot, against advocates of joint statehood. When the great issue is won, and Arizona has a state constitution under which Mr. Moore's masters will be compelled to do their duty by the people, it will )e plainly seen that the real j ""traitors to Arizona" are those who vork like the Citizen, to keep upon Arizona the shackles of corporate power and tyranny.
