The Citizen gives one of the Puna

in Prescott the following notice: Ilon.o
Fred G. Hughes, for county recorder, is
perhaps as weak a nomination as the
democrats could have made. There was
a time, when the sporting element of
Tueon metaphorically ruled the
roo-t" and Mr. Hughes enjoyed a bub
ble of popularity. Times have changed
and men rellect morf and look at public
affairs and tliOM who serve them in a
light far different than in the dim and
dUmal post. Mr Hughe.- no longer
rides on a popular wave, as his def.-al
at the lE-t clevtioit gives evidence, and
there is but little chance of hi reaching
the home stretch in the race when his
opponent passes under the pole.
