Finch is one of the lest known men in Liberty, For the last two terms helms been town chaiiman, thus entitling him to a seat in the County Board of Supervisors. Before assuming the chairmanship of the town, he had for a great many years acted in the cajmcity of town clerk. In early life Mr. Finch taught schools in various sections of the county and he is remem bered by a large host of his former pupils who are scattered all over the state. Mr. Finch is said to be the most pop ular town chairman Liberty Ims ever had. and he is now being urged to take the position once more. He has not yet, however, decided whether to take up the work again; as he expressed it, he would like to see some of the younger cha)rs Imve a trial. If the town insists on his assuming the duties he will, of course take them up. For a great many years, now, Mr. Finch has farmed a fine piece of land, situated on the old Green Bay road, in extent HO acres. He says crops this year promise to le wonderfully good with the exception of hay. It will only l*e another week liefore he and all the farmers in the district begin harvesting. CLARKS MILLS. (tmo. may DEATH OE MISS SCHNEIDER A BEAUTIFUL GIRL MHO LIVED AT THE BRANCH- Miss Nettie S;;hneider, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Schneider of Branch died of consumption Friday morning at the age of twenty-one. Her itarents, five brothers and six sister survive her. Burial took place Sunday af terms in in the village lemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Johnson of Manitowoc. Miss Schneider had l>een ill almost a year. She spent two months last win ter in New Mexico in the vain attempt to regain her health, and returned to her home early this summer to die. Miss Schneider was a young tady of charming personality, a favorite with the villagers. Her popularity, however, extended far beyond the boundaries of the Branch into Manitowoc and other cities and towns of the state. Her death is deeply felt by her friends because of her winsomeness and naturalness, and a very apparent gap is made in the com munity by her demise. Her death was not unexpected, but it was peaceful- As William Cullen Bryant said, “She drew the draperies of her conch alsiut her and laid down to pleasant dreams.' mishicott. John Shambeau has gone to spend several weeks with friends residing at Marshfield and Wausau. Mrs. Martin who was reported to la very ill in last week’s issue is on th road to recovery.
