We fully agree with the president of our section, that the attendance should he improved, and that excuses should be forwarded to the proper authorities, hut we fail to find, that anv other section has done the same and with good reason. It causes an un friendly feeling among some teachers as the writer has noticed, and it does not further our object of bettering the attendance at the meetings. Whether a franchise shall be granted or not for the proposed street car line is to be settled on election day by a vote of the electors. There is some determined opposition on the part of some, but it will undoubtedly be carried though not by an overwhelming majority. Some of the opposition comes from misunder standings relative to the right of way and use of bridges. This is easily clear ed up, but the fellow whose horses are going to run a wav, i- a strong factor in the opposition, and still stronger one to convince. About the only thing he can do is to get them used to it, which isn't going to be half as bad a job as he imag ines.
