By the County Board of Su pervisors, that the sum <>f 825 be appro priated to Wiii Crippen for his services in building and preparing a room for the use of said Board and for Court and oth er county purposes for the year 1861. Sup Copp moved to Lave a committee appointed by the Chair to report upon the matter of the distribution of the Drainage Fund. The motion j rsvailed. Your Committee would further state that they have used every means within their pow er to acconq lish the object to which they were appointed, yet. owing to the many obstacles that have from time to time been thrown in their way by discouraging parties, and there by preventing them from making bids for any portion of the county buildings, and the fur ther effort that has from time to time been made by crying down, and refusing to r- reive, county orders, and various other obstaclesthr.t have been placed in the way for the express" purpose of preventing the erection of said buildings, yet. not withstanding all this, your committee were untiring in their efforts in the desire to carry out the object for which they were appointed, yet, in the face of all this, they would have succeeded, and l>v tins time would have had the buildings in such an advanced state as to have been i;s< d by the of ficers and for court purposes, had not the Chairman and Clerk been restrained by in jtineti in from the issuing of further county orders. The ayes and noes being called for, Sups Quimby Copp, Sclmser and Cheny 4, aye; Cox, Hodges, Hurley, Young man, Holt, Fertig, Akers, Williams and Minor 9, no; and tho amendment was lost.
