These logways, or giant’s washboards intended for roads, are as scandalous as needless. A few loads of gravel or soil would fill the in terstice’, smooth the road, enhance the value of our farms, add to our comfort, and raise Gilman in the esteem of trav elers. Spring Valley Items- —July 13.—Haying commenced here last week. —Weather is very warm. Showers are frequent. —Jay and Alfred Wilcox, returned to the woods a short time ago. —Crops look fine; and the golden gleams begin to show through the wheat. —Our summer term of school is almost at a close. Miss Watson Is teacher. —Mr. King and men commenced work Thursday on the dam for the new saw mill, near Mr. Francisco's place. —We have two mails a week now from River Falls, and one from Maiden Rock.
