Mr. H. Barnum, having had years of ex
perience in catering for the tastes of the
lovers of amusements and of artistic me
chanism, has for the year 1875, at an enor
mous outlay in Chartots, Paraphernalia,
Costume, Armor, &c, with the sole view of
eclipsing any and all heretofore attempts

Monster Golden Chariot of Commerce,

Thia superb exposition of art is thirty
five feet in length and twenty-five in height,
made to raise or lower by machinery. Th
body is covered with heavy carvings and
richly guilded ornaments. I the rear on
pedestals are carved statues illustrating
Britania and the Genns Columbia,
Interspersed among Mercury, Ceres and
other emblems of Peace and Commerce.
From the center this Chariot rises up, to a
towering height, an enormous Globe, upon
which is seated a lady in full steel armor,
representing Britania with trident and Brit
ish Shield, supported by emblematic repre
sentatives of America on each side of the
carved statuary, representing
EUROP E A N AMERICA.
THE GOLDEN CAB OF ENTERPE,

on which is seated
Zebu's Celebrated British Brass Band.
The body of this spendid vehicle is elab
orately ornamented the panels, sides, front
and rear are all richly carved and gilt.
French plate mirrors upon the sides in
bas-relief, representing the Muses an 4
other mythological subjects, the entire car
being covered with carved and golden deco
rations. The style and finish of this Eu
terpean Chariot excels anything in theForming
shape of band chariots that has ever been
seen in America,

an expense of $20,000 by the proprietors of
this Leviathan Consolidation, with a view
to place before the public features that are
