Headaches may be classified under two names, vii : Sympto matic and Idiopathic. Symptomatic headache is exceedingly common and is the precursor of a great variety of diseases, among which are Apo- fiexy, Uout, Kheumatism, and all febrile diseases, n its nervous form it is sympathetic of the disease of the stomach constituting tick headache, of hepa tic disease constituting bilious headache, of worms, constination and other disorders of the bowels, as wen as renal ana uterine uuecuons. diseases oi the heart are very frequently attended with head aches; Aniemia aud plethora are also affections which frequently occasion headache. Idiopathic headache is also very. common, being usually dis tinguished by the name of nervous headache, some times coming on suddenly in a state of apparently sound health and prostrating at once the mental and physical energies, and in other instances it comes on slowly, heralded by depression of spirits or acerbity of temper. In most instances the pain is in the front of the head, over one or both eyes, and sometimes provoking vomiting: under this class may also be named Neuralgia. i or tne treatment of either class of neadacne tbe Cephalic Hits hare been found a sure aud safe re medy, relieving the most acute pains in a few min utes, and by its subtle power eradicating the disea ses of which headache is the unerring index, :o: Bridget. No one of the " many ills flesh is heir to" is so prevalent, so little understood, and so much neg lected as Costiveness. Often originating in cure- Iessness, or sedentary habits; it is regarded as slight disorder of too little consequence to excite anxiety, while in reality it is the precursor and com panion of many of the most fatal and dangerous diseases, and unless early eradicated it will bring the sufferer to an untimely grave. Among the lighter evils of which costiveness is the usual at tendant are Headache, Colic, Rheumatism, Foul Breath, riles and others of like nature, while long train of frightful diseases such as Malignant revers, Accesses, Dysentery, Diarrhoea, Dyspep sia, Apoplexy, Epilepsy, Paralysis, Hysteria, Hy pochondriasis, Melancholy and Insanity, first indi cate their presence in the system by this alarming symptom. Not nnfrequently the diseases named originate in Constipation, but take on au indepen dent existence unless the cause is eradicated in an early stage. From all these considerations it fol lows that the disorder should receive immediate attention whenever it occurs, and no person should neglect to get a box of Cephalis Pills on the first appearance of the complaint, as their timely use will expel the iusidious approaches of disease and destroy this dangerous foe to human life. :o: A REAL BLESSING. Having made his Glue a house hold word, he now proposes to do the world still greater service by curing all the aching heads with his Cephalic Pills, and if they are as good as his Glue, headaches will soon vanish away like snow in July. 16: t3T" Over Excitement, and the mental care and anxiety incident to close attention to business or study, are among the numerous eauses of Nervous Headache. The disordered state of mind and body incident to this distressing complaint is a fatal blow to all energy and ambition. Sufferers by this disorder can always obtain speedy relief from these distressing attacks by using one of the Cephalic Pills whenever the symptoms appear. It quiets the overtasked brain, and, soothes the strained and tarrins; nerves, and relaxes the tension of the stomach which alwavs accompanies and aggravates the disordered condition of the brain. Great Discovert. Scrofula, or King's Evil, is a constitutional disease, a corruption of the blood, by which this fluid becomes -vitiated, weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the whole body, and may burst out in disease on any part of it. No organ is free from its attacks, nor is there one -which it may not destroy. -The scrofulous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low living, dis ordered or -unhealthy food, impure air, filth and filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, above all, by the venereal infection. What ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the con stitution, descending " from parents to children unto the third and fourth generation ; " indeed, it seems to be the rod of Ilim who says, " I will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." Its effects commence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tubercles; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor ruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of fife, so that scrofulous constitu tions not only suffer from scrofulous com plaints, but they have far less power to with stand the attacks of other diseases ; conse quently vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still rendered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which de cimates the human family has its origin directly in this scrofulous contamination; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all. the organs, arise from or are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people are scrofulous ; their persons are invaded by this lurking in fection, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system we must renovate the blood by an alterative medicine, and in vigorate it bv healthy food ana . exercise. Such a medicine -we supply , in AYER'S Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla, the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this every where -Drevailinc and fatal malady. It is com bined from the most active remedials that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the svstem from its destructive consequences, Hence it should be employed for the cure of not onlv Scrofula, but also those other anec tions which arise from it, such as Eruptive and Skin Diseases. Blotches, Blaiks and Boils, Tumors, Tetteb and Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Kingworm, Rheumatism, Syphilitic and Mercurial Dis eases, Dropsy, Dtspepsia, .Debility, and, indeed, all Complaints arising from Vitia ted or Impure Blood. The popular belie! in impurity of the blood" is founded in truth, for scrofula is a defeneration of the blood. The Tjarticular purpose and virtue of this Sarsapa riUa is to purify and regenerate this vital fluid, without which sound health is impossible in contaminated constitutions. ACER'S Ague Cure, FOR THE SPEEDY CURE OF Intermittent Fever, or Fever and Agne, Remittent Fever, Chill Fever, Dnmb Ague, Periodical Headache, or Billons Headache, and Biliona Fevers, Indeed for the whole class of diseases origi nating in biliary derangement, caused hy the Malaria of Miasmatic Coun tries. We are enabled. here to offer the community a remedy which, while it enrea the above complaints with cer tainty, is still perfectly harmless in any quantity. Such a remedy is invaluable in districts where these afflicting disorders prevail. This "Cubs" expels the miasmatic poison of Fsvxa asd Agui from the system, and pre vents the development of the disease, if taken on the first approach of ita premonitory symptoms. It is not only tbe best remedy ever yet discovered for this class of complaints, bnt also tbe cheapest. Tbe large qnantity we supply for a dollar brings it within the reach of every body ; and in bilious districts, where Fevee am) Acci prevails, every body should bave it and use it freely both for cure and protection. It is hoped this price will place it within tbe reach of all the poor as well as the rich. A great superiority of this remedy over any other ever discovered for the speedy and certain cure of Intormit tents is, that it contains no Quinine or mineral, conse quently it produce no quinism or other injurious effects whatever npon the constitution. Those cured by it are left as healthy as if they bad never bad tbe disease. Fever and Ague is not alone tbe consequence of the miasmatic poison. A great variety of disorders arise from its irritation, among which are Neuralgia, IiHeumatitm, Gout, Headache, Mindness, Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Astltma, Palpitation, Painful Affection of the ifyleen. Hysterics, Pain in Oie Boxcelt, CbUc, Paralysis, and De rangement of the Stomach, all of which, when originat ing in this cause, put on tbe intermittent type, or become periodical. This " Ccri" expels the poison from tbe blood, and consequently cures them all alike. It is an invaluable protection to immigrants and persons travel ling or temporarily residing in tbe malarious districts. If taken occasionally or daily while exposed to tbe infec tion, that will be excreted from the system, and cannot accumulate in sufficient qnantity to ripen into disease. Hence it is even more valuable for protection than cure, and few will ever suffer from Intermittents if they avail themselves of the protection this remedy affords. Prepared by Dr. J. C.
