Robert Dillon is visiting at the home of his father, John Dillon for a short time Mrs. Francis Dams and Mrs. Mary Mezga, of Milwaukee, spent the 4th with their sister, Mrs. John A. Mann. V -ils. Barley and three children, Irene Mczga and Mrs. Dams return ed to Milwaukee with Mrs. Mezga for a short visit A. J. Wagner has sold his place and will soon go to Chicago to live. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis and nephew, William Scheem, of Chicago are taking a short vacation in this neighborhood. Dick Dillon is sick with rheuma tism of the heart. His aunts, Mar ion and Katherine Cragan have been helping to care for him. Roy Richardson and family, of Strector, Illinois, have been visiting for the past week at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Richard son. They returned home on Satur day last, Mr. Richardson accompany ing them. Frank Wagner and family and Jos eph Wagner and daughter are spend ing a two weeks vacation at the A. J. Wagner home I. Wfaszeks have summer resorters. a house full of James Heminway and family, of Chicago have taken possession of their new place purchased of John Haiuck. John Dillon Jr. had the misfortune to break his arm some time ago and it is improving slowly. A number of friends gathered at the Schwab home on Wednesday eve ning of last week in honor of Bill's birthday. A good time was enjoyed by all then a delicious supper was served by Mrs. Schwab and daugh ter Grace,. Mrs. McKuen has been enjoying a visit from a sister of Rockford, 1111. Mrs. Annie Hardie of Grand Rap ids spent the week-end with her moth cr, Mrs. Stafford. Reo Langdon left Monday for Kan Fas. Mrs. George J. Brown entertained two sisters from Chicago last week. Mrs. Blower has a daughter from Florida visiting her. Mr. and Mrs. C. II. Smith enter tained John Hayes of Otsego and H. L. Bolinger and family of Paw Paw for the Fourth . Mrs. Emma Fisk is visiting in Kal amazoo this week. Erving McConnie and family of Hartford are visiting A .M. Burns and family this week. Sidney Sternman spent the week end at the R. O. Smith home. His wife and baby returned with him to their home in Flint. Mr. and Mrs. Hiser have been enter taining company from Indiana. BERLAMONT Mrs. Marie Reeves, of Kalamazoo visited her father Wm. Drake over the Fourth. Olive Downie, Frieda and Mattie Moore, of Kalamazoo, spent last week at the home of Wm. Moore, re turning to Kalamazoo Sunday night. Anna Moore went with them for mcd ical treatment. Gertrude Hogmire came home Sun day from Fairmont hospital much improved in health . Mrs. Frye and two daughters vis ited Etha and Harold Frye at Fair mont hospital Sunday and found them both improving. Post Bros. & Schmitz of Allegan are are building a casket factory here and expect to have it ready for occu pancy next week. Wilson, who for many years owned a farm near this village passed away at his home in Kalama zoo, aged 76 years. Mr. and Mrs. John Killefer, who formerly lived here, but now reside in Los Angeles. California, are here visiting their many old friends and ao quaintenccs. Wm. Fields, wife and daughter, of Orcutt, California, are here for a visit with friends. Arch, and Lawrence Haven visited here for a few days and attended the wholesale seedsmen's convention in Chicago. Their home is at Santa Ana California. Mr. and Mrs. S. Eerris have sold their farm and have gone to Chicago to reside. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Dickerson a few days ago. Frank Broughton who was a sol dier on the Mexican border for sever al months has returned home. Miss Jennie ane who has been teach ing in California has returned home. Mrs. J. W. Hawkey's daughter, Mrs. Clarence McNces and husband, will soon leave for Southern Califor nia. James R. Baxter, who has been ill for some time at his home south of lown was recently removed to a hos pital in Kalamazoo. H. C. Taylor, of Beloit, Wisconsin, is visiting his nephew, H. J.
