Km pi en try medicines that will .top a couh will occ.i-ion the death of the pitient; they lock up the liver, stop the circulation of the blood, hemorrhage follow, and. in fact, they clo the action of the very organs that caused the coiih. Liver Complaint and Oyi-pepsia are the cauce of two-thirds of the. cusft of Consumption. -Many I'his is nutur- 1 Persia complain of a dull pain in the -i(le. co!ini- . . 1 ,. .:,... . .-l :.. :.. .1... i l-i. Hence so few irood orirans are inferior workmanship, and vet which, when iini-hed, show so little difference , b the .-iwrajre purc!ia-cr. The impor- j tant narts of an oi"-an. made as well as ! they can tie, co-t two or three time as much as if made as low as possible. Yet, when the oriran is done, it i. not eay from casual Iio-irinp- to tell the j difference between the best and a very j poor one. K-pecially when shown by j one who knows how to cover up defects, i to one who has not special skill in such ! matters, it is not difficult to make a j pt-or orpin appear a good one. i The temptation to makers, then, to; m-oduce. at a traction oi the co.M, an X - orjran wliicli will sell almost a good one is the fact that made and so manv poor ones, and that. the country is Hooded with peddiers and dealers selling these poor organs, which pay such large profits. The buyer of the poor organ docs not fail to lind out his mistake after a while. The thin reedy tone of his cheap organ soon lie comes offensive, it works noisily and roughly, is constantly out of order, and becomes useless by" the time a really good instrument would have been get ting into its prime. A good organ ought to last a generation, at least: a poor one may last live years, with con siderable tinkering, or may break down much sooner. There is one safe way. (let a genuine production of one of the very best maker. and you cannot go astray. Among the.-e undoubtedly stands pre-eminent the Mason fc Hamlin Organ Co., whose organs are so well known that other makers are generally content to claim that they can make tx good an organ as the Mason & Hamlin. They invented and introduced the Cabinet or Parlor Or gan in its improved form, started with and have always closely adhered to the policy of making only the lic.-t work, have 'shown such skill as has given their organs the highest reputation, not only in this country but also in Europe. At the ("rent Exposition at Vienna, in com petition with eighty of the best makers in the world, they obtained the highest medals. To enumerate the competi tions at which they have received simi lar honors would lie to give a list of the fairs at which they have exhibited; and to mention the prominent musicians who recommend their organs as unequal el would really be to give a very good list of the most illustrious musical names in the country, with a good representa tion in .Europe. One who obtains a Mason fc Hamlin Cabinet Organ need have no doubt that he has the best instrument of its class which can be made. She is excessively shy and demure, blushes when looked at by visitors, and faints when drunk ards are brought bleeding and yelling into the prison. Her face is delicate and expressive of retiring modest and gentleness. Her name is Annette Oil lard, and she is awaiting trial for stab bing a man four times with a big butch er knife, and then smashing his skull with ;i brick. Tilt Strange "Ttlnensc. Like the thief at nijrht, it steals in upon us unawares. The patients have pains about the chest and sides, and sometimes in the hack. They feel dull and sleepy; the mouth has a bad taste, especially in the morning. A sort of sticky slime collects a'limt the teeth. The appetite is pooit. There is a feeling like a heavy load on the stomach, sometimes a faint, all-gone sensa tion at the pit o the stomach, which food does not satisfy. The eyes are sunken, the hands and feet become cold and feel clam my. After awhile a cough sets in, at first drv, but after a few months it is attended with greenish-colored expectoration. The i patient feels tired all the while, and sleep j doc not appear to allord any rest. After a j time he becomes nervous, irritable and ! gloomy, and has evil forebodings. There is j a giddiness, a sort of whirling sensation in i the head when rising up suddenly. The ! bowels become costive, the skin is dry and hot at times. The blood becomes thick and stagnant, the whites of the eyes become tinged with yellow, the urine is scanty and liigli-colorcd, depositing a sediment after standing. There is frequently a spitting up of the lood, sometimes with a sour taste and sometimes a sweetish taste. This is frequently attended with palpitation of the heart. The vision becomes impaired with 6pots before the eyes. There is a feeling of great prostration" and weakness. All of these symptoms do not make their appear- anec at one time, but during the various j stages they are in turn present. It is j thought that nearly one-third of our popu- , latum has tins disease in some or us varied forms. It has been found that medical men have mistaken the nature of this disease. Some have treated it for liver complaint, some for dyspepsia, others for kidney dis ease, etc., etc., but none of these various kinds of treatment have been attended w ith success. It is found, however, that thu Shaker Extract of Koots (not a patent medicine), when prepared properly, will re move the disease in all its stages. Care should be taken to procure a good article.
