ard.sou, a practical planter who has
elo.-iely studied the Masou inveu-
tiou, concurs.
Mr. Mason will exhibit oue of
his Pickers at Reftigo or Swift
water plantations early in the Fall j
of which test wo will give ample
notice. There wilt doubtless be a
large attendance of Valley plant
ers on thu exhibition; for whose
entertainment Mr. Richardson re
quests us to say he will prepare.
Siuco the first publication do
scriptive of Mr. Masou's Pickers,
we have believed that of the hun
dreds who had attempted to apply
mechanism to cottou picking, bo
would achieve success. Personal
contact with- him, to have him
speak of aud explain the Inveution
on which he has bestowod intense
labor for years, strengthened our
conviction of his genius.
It was suggested to Mr. Mason
while hero that Greeuvillo would
bo an excellent point for the lo
cation of a branch factory for
the manufacture of bis Cottou
Pickers. If brought into general
use, of course factories will be es
tablished throughout the cotton
country. And believing ns wo do
that at an early day the demand
for this implement will be co-ex
tensivo with tho cotton growing
country, wo suggest that formal
