The alarm of fire was sounded about 6 o'clock Sunday morninar from the Greenville Compress box, and from the clouds of smoke arising from the sheds, one seeing it from a distance, tnougnt a Dig fire was raging. This proved un true, lor besides number of bales of cotton scorched the only damage done was to a shed under which the staple was stored. The whole loss will not amount to over 3,000.
