She says when the child waa born she gare it to its father, who promised to take and raise it. Ho wrapiied it up and carried it from the house before daybreak. She does not know whether the infant found was hor own, but believes it was. The man never returned. Sho says sho had nothing to do with killing the child. It was alive when taken from her house. Bishop Whittle, Assistant-Bisnop Randolph and all the clergy of the diocese are expected to ba present. The chief subject to be discussed during the business sessions of the council will be the ouestion whether the di.Kies* should ba divided aud what dividing lines would be the most desirable. A subject which will no doubt be brought up fur discussion will be canon 19 of the ed constitution, of the can ms of the Protestant Episcopal church in tlie diocese of Virginia. At lust y.ar's council a motion was made to strike out this canon, and the subject waa thoroughly discussed pro and con. However. final action in the matter waa laid over until the session of this year's- council.
