HANSEN AND PASCAL TO WRESTLE AGAIN. Agreements have been Signed? Match will Take Place June 16? Catch-as-Catch-Can Style. H. P. Hansen will wrestle Pasoal again Jnne 16. Tho articles of agree ment have been signed and money plaoou. The match will be catoh-as catch-can style, hest two ont of three falls. When Pascal was here before the sDorts were well pleased with the match and Hansen won a hard battle. The announcement that Pascal is to return again will be receivod with pleasure. * ANOTHER AFTER KEYPORT. The Standard Terra Ootta Works baseball toam will take a trip to Key port on Satu^iay afternoon where they will moet the Keyport A. O. baseball team. The Keyporters are the team who defeated the Deltas in two games and the Riversides in ,a game last Sat urday. The battery for the Standards will bo Olenry and Zimmerman. TRY CARTERET AGAIN. The Emerald baseball team, of North Ambov, will journey to Carteret next Saturday afternoon when they will cross bats with the Carteret base ball club. This will be the second game that the Emeralds have played with the Carteret team. In the first, which was played two weeks ago, they wore defeated, and now noxt Saturday they hope to come out the victor. FOG SPOILED RACE. Fog spoiled what would probably have been a line race between the three 90-footers yesterday. It shut in just as they were starting out for the Sandy Hook lightship, from which point the race was to have been start ed, and then after waiting nntil after 12 o'clock the three managing owners had a conference, and as there was little prospect of the fog clearing it was agreed that the race should be called off for the day. STANDARDS WON. Standard baseball team beat the Pertii AmbDy baseball team Saturday, score was 17 to 10. The game was played on the Standard's diamond. WRESTLING GOSSIP A Now York promoter of wrestling has hit upon a novel plan which he thinks will do away with fake bouts. He proposes that every contest which is to be decided in New York and elsewhere go to a finish and that so oalled handicap matches, in which one man contracts to throw another so many timeB in one honr, be abolished. "It's the hardest thing in the world to distinguish a fak6 from the genuine in wrestling," continued the promot er, "but there are plenty of ways to prevent fakirs from butting in the game and hurting a good sport. I would suggest the abolition of bouts at theatres following shows. These are more in the nature of exhibitions and give the patrons of the sport a wrong impression. Then I would compel all wrestlers to do their level best, with a penalty of being barred from competition in New York and elsewhere. There are many so-called wrestlers traveling from town to town under different names. It's a brazen piece of hippodrome and should be stopped. It's only a question of time when the authorities will close down on the sport in New York city^if there is a semblance of any crooked work. The game has been barred in some of the big cities because of a bunch of no-account fakirs." George Fisher, wrestling instructor of the Now Polo A. O. , is looking for a match with any catch-as-catch-can middleweight in the business. Fish er prefers a bout with either the "Ouban Wonder" or Tom Matthews. Jack McCormick is another wrestler who intends to visit England in the near future. MoGormiok a fow days ago received an offer from a friend in London, who advises him to go abroad, saying that there is a fine chance for a good American wrestler there. As McCormick is a fairly clever boxer the trip ought to be a financial suc cess. McCormick is also figuring on going to the Klondike. He has re ceived an offer of a guarantee and purse to meet an "unknown" next October, but up to date he has not re ceived his expense monov. McCor mick says he will wait until the end of this month and if the money is not forthcoming he will immediately sail for the other side. ALPINES DEFEATED KEASBEY. The Alpine baseball team defeated the Keasbev baseball team at Keasbey on Saturday afternoon by a score of 10 to 3. The battery for the Alpines was Oleary and Cluney. In 1658, early in the reign of Louis XIV., M. de Velayer established a private penny post. Boxes were set up at the street corners for the re ception of letters. Offices were opened in various quarters of Paris; ^ collections were made onoe a day from the street boxes, followed I many hours later by a single deliv er ery, and thue the first post office in J the world was established. M. de ' Velayer was so greatly encouraged by the success of his enterprise that in order to develop it still further he printed certain forms of billets or notes which were intended to cover all the ordinary requirements of business in great towns. These forms contained blanks which were intend ed to be filled up by the pen with such special matter as might be nec essary to complete the writer's ob ject. The Idea at once became popu lar, and the printed forms accompa nied the expansion of the postal serv ice throughout the larger cities of France, and it was manjf years be fore they fell into disuse. ?
