F., Aug. 8.— The steamer Grand Take has arrived here from the wreck of the steamer Monte rey, near St. Pierre-Miquelon, with 283 cattle taken from the wreck. The lat est reports from the steamer Holmlea, a British steamer. Wollman, of Brooklyn, is SDending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Epstein, of Division street. OBITUARY. John Juster, twenty-four years old, died this morning at his home, 19 Cortland street. The funeral arrange ments have not yet been made. Jumped Down Six StorieM and Liven. NEW YORK. Aug. 8 —Kate Walsh, twenty-five years old, who lias no home, tried to etui her ljfe by jumping from the window of a" vacant apart ment on the top lioor of the six story Blackburn apartments. She landed in a cistern at the bottom of an air shaft. She broke through a one inch plank overing on the cistern and landed in three inches of water and about six inches of mud at the bottom. She sustained a fracture of the left tinkle and contusions of the back and after being treated at the Roosevelt hospital was removed to Bellevue hos pital in a patrol wagon, a prisoner, charged with attempted suicide.
