Report of Collector of Local Custom House Shows Profit of $50,716.10 ! _ The animal report of Collector Rob ert Carson, of the port of Perth Amboy, shows that the total exports here for the year ending June 30, amounted to $2,081,811. Of this $178, 921 was domestic exports and $1,902,890 was foreign. The total receipts at the local custom house from all sources amount to $61,353.78. Deducting the expenses a profit for the government of $50,716.17 is shown. The total number of vessels now having Perth Amboy as a home port is 504. During the year 39 vessels entered from foreign ports and 76 cleared for foreign ports. From domestic ports, 112 vessels en tered and 69 cleared for domestic ports. William Dayton, the canal boat cap tain, who was drowned at the Port Reading coal docks on Wednesday, September 2nd, and whose body was recovered on Sunday afternoon, was buried in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic cemetery at 11 o’clock this morinng. The funeral was held from J. J. Flynn’s undertaking establishment on New Brunswick avenue. A cousin oi the dead man came to Perth Amboy Irom New York last night and identi fied the body. All the funeral ex penses today were p .id by the Boat men Union of New York and New Jersey, of which the dead man was a member. NO QUORUM. The Board of Education was to have met last night but there was no quorum and the meeting was adjourned until next Tuesday evening. Sept. !>.—The mystery attending the death of Caroline VV. Link was solved when a negro boy known as Charlie Jones confessed lit1 had murdered the woman. The boy is twelve years old. four feet tall and weighs eighty pounds. His purpose was to rob the till of the candy store in which Miss Link was employed, but lie compromised on a piece of peanut taffy.
