Dineen was shot, probably fatally, here by police Officer Oardner Nortlinip immediately following the temporary suspension of Northrop by the chief for alleged In toxication. The shooting occurred on the second floor of the police station, where the two men were alone. Oitl cers on the floor below rushed upstairs, overpowered Northrup and Inter re moved Dineen to the hospital. Ilis condition Is said to be critical. Four shots were fired, two going wild.
