Mechanics ' Padded For Tonight SOUTH AMBOY, March 2:—Sel dom has a South Amboy team pass ed through a season without once ./taking the measure of a Perth Am f boy representative outtit in some branch of sport. These two teams arc scheduled to meet on 0the high 'school uuditorium court. | The lineup of the local team for 'he game tonight has not been an nounced. but there is every indica tion that at least two new men will bo in tho lineup of the home team when tonight's game gets under way. Humors have been current here since the booking of the game that Eddio Sehelling and possibly one or two other Newarkers would be secured for this game. Sehelling played great ball for the Riversides against the Auditorium team of Perth Amboy two seasons ago. Manager Samuelson of tho local team is well satisfied with the show ing of his outfit on the court this season. A success over tho Speed way team would be the greatest suc cess of the year and for this reason it is believed the local management has done everything in his power to I get together a team capable of tak ing tho Perth Amboy' outfit into camp. When these two teams lqjjt met, on the court the local representa tives succeeded in holding their own with the Speedways in the opening session, but tho Perth Amboy play ers pace in the second period left the South Amboy outfit In the rear. This contest was decided by several points. The Speedways will take the court tonight with practically the same lineup as was used in tho first game. Ray Handerhan and Sutton, for wards: Brownmiller, ‘ center, and Bradley and Bob Handerhan. guards. Rufio Allen played in place of Bob Handerhan in the first con test, the latter being out of tho game with an injured hand. No announcement has been made regarding the referee for this con test. A record crowd is expected to turn out for this game, inasmuch as there is great interest in South River. The Dottas have announced that the Misses Marie Handerhan, Anna Handerhan, Cora DeKusha, Mary Nolan and Eleanor Brogger will occupy the positions on th. visiting team. No announcement has been made regarding the pivot man for the Independents in this game. The Misses Edna Bennett, Cora Eorgot sen, Katherine Miller and Marion Thom will play in their regular po sitions. These two have made good rec ords on the court this season. A. jCourt Tonight The deciding game o£ the series between the Yorkville Separates, crack New York team, and the Perth mboy Y. M. H. A., will be played on the local court tonight. A. this season, and tilts team was the first outfit to score a victory over Manager Levine’s tribe. The Separates won this game by a , margin of about ten points, and sev eral weeks later tho team was re- j booked and defeated by tho local: association team by a two point' margin. Manager George Davis of tho Separates, a combination which has proven a real attraction in this sec tion, claims that his team will havei little trouble in regitserlng a victory I over the local team tonight. The eleventh man on the floor for this game has not been nnnounccd. CITY VOLLEY BALL LEAGUE ! MEETING TOMORROW NIGHT' A Acting of the managers of all of the’teams entered ill the city volley ball league will be held with Physical Director S. C. Pew at the Y. M. C. A. tomorrow night at 7:31) o’clock for the purpose of acting upon the teams as signed up. KVcry manager is urged to be on ha nil to morrow night with his team fully Signed up and have the necessary registration fee. An effort will be made to have the teams entered in the league as evenly minched as possible so that the tourney will not develop into a walk-away for one or two teams whoso players far out class the others. It will not be known until after tomorrow night's meeting just how J many teams will be entered in the j league. It is expected, howeveh ( that eight or ten combinations at least will he in the circuit. This bout will four rounds. The show is sched uled for a week from tonight and will be held in the Auditorium on New Brunswick avenue. Burns for many years has been considered the leading boxer of his class in the state of Jersey. In matching him with Brooks a fast New York boy, the members of the. committee in charge of this show! have arranged for fast bout. Burns and Brooks have always been known to give the fans the best that is in them. In putting this bout down as the! final on boxing section of the pro-1 gram, the committee lias made ar rangements correctly. The Perth Amboy Legion team lias not engaged in many games this season but Captain Kufus Allen has a strong collection of players al ways ready for action.
