Penrose candidate for renominatlon.

ers, is defeated by about 3,000 votesi
in returns received at noon from the
Republican .primaries ln v Allegheny
county. A. C. Gumbert and Frank J.
Harris are nominated.
The bulk of the Penrose Ucket is
nominated. Of 500 districts out of
777 in the county the vote: Official on
Superior Court wm, Head. 37.231;
Hulseton, 44,554: Orlady 42.816;
Wallace, 15,205, and Williams, 37,458.
The contest between David B. Johns
and William B. Kirker for prothono
tary is close. The latest reports this
morning with 120 county districts to
be heard fropi, give Johns a lead of
about 1,800 over his opponent. The
districts yet to report are In outlying
territory and may considerably In
crease Klrker's vote.
