All the two hundred thousand dollars of common stock, offered by the com pany, has been taken and paid for at one hundred and ten dollars a share. It also yields a dividend of eight per cent per annum, and is held largely by the management of the company. The preferred stock, however, has a decided advantage over the common, in that no dividend can be paid on the common, until all dividends on the preferred shares have first been paid. P. T. Finch took Us flight to other realms on yes terday Birmingham and the state of Alabama lest a good and useful citi zens. 1 enjoyed the confidence and companionship of this gentleman for years, and 1 never left his presence without feeling that I had been bene lltted both morally and mentally. I do not remember of hearing him Hpeak an ugly or unkind word of anyone. He was big and broad, and a man of peace. He disliked bitterness and strife, anti always looked upon the weak and vul gar with pity, wishing they possessed the nobler qualities and richer gifts. His body wilt rest in Arlington, and if the spirit of Hubert E. Bee should at any time return to this sacred spot, and in wandering around in the still ness of the night, he would say to the dead: “Sleep on in my old home; I am resting not far away, and In a little while we will ull be together." Deur friend, shall I say good-bye? No, only the shadows of evening have fallen, but they will pass away, and some morning you will awake from your slumbers, and ask: "Is this life iiguin? 1 must be In a land of joy and beauty; 1 wonder if my friends of the long ago are here; let me see who 1 can find.” .1.
