FARMERS AND STOCK RAISERS, I oiler you a Corn und Cob Mill unsurpassed in the Union, uud whicn cannot be superceded by past or future indentions. It is the very Mi'.f which every Farmer abd Stock Kaiser should have; it will crush from S to 10 bush els Corn and Cob per hour, with one horse; is easily fitted up and managed; weighs 810 lbs, and as all contact ot the grinding surlaecs is prevented, will last any farmer an or dinary lifetime. 1 speak thus of its durability because the same principle has been fairly tested in the old Bark Mill. Who is it that wants A MILL OK TRIAL for one month, and if it don't givo complete satisfaction, to return it f It there be any man thus disposed, let him now cpeak. Satisfaction is warranted in every case, or tho mon vy will be refunded. This Crusher can be attached to horse, water or steam power, w hich renders it the most convenient Mill touth of Mason's and Dixon's line. All other Orushtrs now in the south require too much power, or will soon wear out. According to THE LAWS OF NATURE a Cora and Cob Mill which admits of a lateral or wabbling motion, will, necessarily, soon wear out; all other Crushers arc amenable to this grand objection, and the Proprietors dare not dispute it. In the construction of "Vodnq Anis ic a," I have gained pocr, and I defy contradiction; 1 have lessened friction, aad I challenge one word to the contra ry; I have preventeda wabbling lateral motion, and all are compelled to acknowledge it; therefore, 1 assert that it is tar supenortouny other Mill. 1 am low selling this Tea oesseo invention at the small sum of FIFTY DOLLARS. Mr. Leavitt being the ongiual inventor ot this kind of a ma- cnine, nd irom long experience witu cist iron eorn-crnsn en, finding that all ct them were liable to objections, the most formidable of which was their want of durability or liability soon to wear out, be again went to work with the Tiew of removing the objectionable features. In February, 1855. be succeeded in ootaininc letters. tutent fur the ''Ex celsior Corn and Cob Mill." and now has the satisfaction ci being able to present tbe above ilill to the farmers of we- united states, standing as it does at tne Dead ot tne list oi uorn.L.rusnere, combining the good qualities or all, exemnt irem tbe delects of any, and possessing many new, valuable, and distinguishinc features, of which all others ure oesuiuie. We have remarked that the great and heretofore insur mountable objection, urged with so much force against cast, iron mills, was tneir palpable aenciency in durability. 10 remove mis ocjection was a desideratum long sougbt tor. and which has been at lencrth shamed in the "Excel- sior Mill" only: the irrindinz surface of wnich consists In movcaoie rings, maue in tiara ana superior metat, and which, when worn out, can be replaced in five minutes by new rings, at a cost ot $3, wtjicn mases tne mill as good as new. there beinsr no other cart liable to wear out. Two setts of grinding rings accorupiny each mill, making, it oher mill, should not be overlooked oy p nclusers.'aj it insures durability, a consideration of all others ILemcst important. Another interesting feature in this mill, and one i hich we think will secure tor it a just consideration l lueriL is luiium ihu mills. iui3 uceu lari v. i isbcs&vu uv eg in its being provided with a meal condnci i, y means of which ine meal is discnareea into a nan busuel. instead of beicg scattered around the mill, as is ordinarily the case. This mill bavin? been fairlv tested with other mills at the late Fair of the Marrlind Agricultural Societr. at the OhioSiate Fair, and elcetvhere, at all of which it establish ed its superiority, we do not hesitate emphatically to pro nounce it pre-eminently superior to any and all other corn crushers of tbe da v. independent of its moveable zrindiner lings, which feature of itself makes the distinction be tween tne "txcelsior and all other corn crushers so broad as to render a comparison superfluous; and, as an evidence of our sincerity, we hereby announce that we will give a silver cup to any Corn Crusher that can be produced, of the same size and same lecethof lever, that will erind finer and faster than the Excelsior, at some time and place uj oe agreea upon. Capacity of grinding corn and cobs with twe horses from 15 to 20. and witn one horse, from 3 to 10 bushels rr hour. Cost of Running the Excelsior Mill lor Ten- i cars, Compared uith thai rf other Mult in use at this tims. It has been proven bv experience, and contrarv to gen eral expectation, that cast iron Mills for grindinz Corn. etc., to do the work properly, will not last more than two years, in view of this tact, the inventor ot the Excelsior Mill has labored to produce a machine that will be more economical, and at tbe same time more effectual. The fol lowing estimate will show the cost of crindinir with each of the Mills now in use for ten years: Cost of Excelsior Mill, (50, including on extra set of Grinding Plates, which makes it good for lour years. Cost of repairs for six years, 9, making forten years, $69. Costofcommoa Mills, without any extras, says ii4. Cost of running tbe same for ten years, supposing that the Mill will last as long as the Excelaior Mill without repairs, say to be renewed every two years, which in this case must be done at the expense ol a new machine each time, (176, making for the teu years a cost of $220. This same role will apply to any and all of the Mills now in use which come in competition with the Excelsior Mill. Farmers and others in want ot mills for grinding Corn and Cob, etc., will see by the above estimate that the Ex celsior Mil! can be used for the purpose requred at less than one third the expense of an? other Mill now in use. This Mill may be put up in a few minutes by any ordi nary farm hand, printed directions for which accompany each Mill. The undersigned bavin? purchased the ricbt to the above Mill in Middle Tennessee, take pleasure in introduc ing it to the public, believing it to be all that is claimed for it, and well worthy the attention of every Farmer, NASHVILLE BELL AND BRASS FOUNDRY, No 17K South Front Street, NASHVILLE, Tenn.
