Runkle,"; an influential.citi zen and prominent physician of this city, has been away for several days, owing to tho illness and- death of ' his father, David Runkle, who died at his home In Craigsville, Augusta county,' on' Sunday , morning, the Gth of October, in the. 93d year of his. age. • . ■ • The deceased retained his full mental vigor until ' a short ..time -prior to his death. ■ Mr. Runkle had. ; lived ah ex ceedingly varied life, and his mind was enriched -by an! inoxhaustable store of in formation' ;o; on • almost all subjects. -His rare charm of manner : in soc! al conversa tion was equalled by few.
