She ias earned this title in the four years since, as sbe says, she was “awakened to suffrage.” Previous to tbe Wisconsin suffrage campaign in 1812 she was, she says, in the position of many women today— her men folks are so good to her that she did not feel the need of the ballot for herself or any one else. Then a book on the legal disabilities of women and tbe industrial conditions affecting wo men and children came her way. witn the effect on them, in the suffrage states, of the votes of women. Mrs. Mct'reery was awakened, and to be interested, with her, always means to do something. She present ed herself at the suffrage headquar ters in Milwaukee with an offer to do any sort of needed work. .Neither sli<- nor anybody had any idea she could make a speech. Her lirst publk ap pearance was not as a speaker, but as a singer to draw a crowd for a street meeting. Later a speaker was needed wLen none of the regular speakers were available. Mrs. Mc- Oreery was pressed into service. She found that not only could she make a speech, hut that speaking was her special lorte. Since that time she has been speak ing in many states. She early became recognized as one of the most effective speakers it this state, especially for popular crowds, and out of door crowds. She was induced to take part in the Nevada campaign and the Neb raska campaign and last fall was in the New York campaign for several months. More recently her services were required in the iowa campaign. Mrs. Mct'reery Is a little woman, iter speeches are always perfectly good humored and she has her full share of Irish wit. Her address at the fair in this city is bound to be one o! the features of the annual gather ing. MkJ iO jV WJUJKfS Wausau, Wis., Aug. 24th, lVld. Notice is hereby given that Tuesday? WAOIAH P It* of. Oliver Sulky Plow Reversible ;h Xo. _ a Sulky Plow Is designed for reversible use where il is necessary to plow back and forth using alternately a right and left hand bottom*. Turning the furrow across the slope eliminates the heavy pg b| hill and eaves the ground In better condition to pre vent washing This plow is also of special value where farmers plowing in level ground do not desire to leave the field with back ridges or dead furrows. The farmer can start at one eDd of the field and plow back and forth until be readies the other side. For this reason this plow is of special value w here there are obstacles on one side of the field to prevent going entirely around it. The special reason why this plow is particularly adapted for hillside work is because of the angling adjustment of the seat, the guiding lever arid the wide distance between the wheels, thus making a plow that can be easily kept in line of draft and one that is difficult to tip over. The seat adjustment enables the operator to sit in a vertical position wlieD plowing on exceedingly steep hills or those the slant of which is not as great . This Is brought about by the different number of teeth in the sector under the seat. The operator sits on his seat while making the adjustments, thus relieving him of the necessity of getting off a plow every time he reaches the end of the field. The name Oliver on a plow or implement is for the protection of the purchaser. This is because of the high standard of quality maintained for ah Oliver gfvods This quality has been carefully maintained for al most years and oefore an implement or plow is placed on the market, it must meet tire Oliver standard. This means safety for the purchaser and insures long and satisfactory service. Wh a Buying Repair Parte, Insist on Getting tbe Genuine Oliver. The Baumann Hdw. Cos. 210-212 THIRD STREET WAUSAU, WIS.
