ORANGE COUNTY OBSERVER. HILLSBOROUGH, 2i . C h A TU It I) AY. - MaT 4, 1889. JOSEPH A. HARRIS, Editor and Proprietor. Kntered at the Pout Office at Hill borough, N. C, as second class matter.). " t3ri?li Ommnjaro County ObK(?rrr 1 tlio only p pcrpubliMhcd in Oranire County. ' North Carolina was well reore seated at the Centennial is New York city this week. J The Wilmington &fea$enj!r says that the Democratic, prospects for 1S88 were not aa bright four years ago as tney are now for 1892. Colored people frosa all parts of the State met at Raleigh on Friday. April L'Gtb, and Organized the North Carolina Emigration Association. About 3,000 delegates were present, and nearly every .County in the State was represented. Tho party of sanitarians arid phy sicians who recently visited Florida report that the sanitary condition of the State is excellent, that there is but little fever of any kind, that there wi'l bo no yellow fever epi deruic, and that the disease will be confined to sporadic cases, like that at Sanford recently. All of this is good news. . . Mr. J; I. McRee, who has been connected with the Raleigh News and Observer for a number of years has resigned his position to assume work elsewhere, and Mr. C. T Grandy, of . Camden county, has boen temporarily engaged to fill the vacanoy. Mr. Grandy Is a graduate ot the University of the State and has had considerable experience in I1 lorida and Washington as a news paper man. A DELIGHTFUL TRIP. Mnnya fatal mistake is made by the invalid or tourist sojourning at the South, In returning to a North ern home too early, and encounter ini the sudden lapse into winter temperature which so often marks the Epring reason. Far better is it to adapt bneVself to the change ot cli mate by systematic changes of lati tude, in which gradual approaches rather than sudden encounters shall be the rule. To meet these requirements, the Piedmont Air-Lino is most happily situated. When the sun thines too brightly and the languor of the warm das of spring begin to loll upon a delicate constitution and suggest a more invigorating temperature, this great Line otters tho beautiful eeo tion of Western North Carolina, through which it passes, with a splendid climate, noble scenery, fine hotels, and most excellent transpor tation facilities. To answer just these needs of the sojourner at the more Southern points, Asheville, Hot Springs. Hickory, and other po;nU in tlti famous "Land of the Sky," invite the tourist or invalid to test their attractions and fnish a winter's sojourn under bright skies, amidst the noblest mountain scenery east of the "Rockies," breathing a pure, life-giving and life-renewing nir, surrounded by tho creature com 1 rts of well-kept hotels and trans ported under corditious of highest 1 etinemotit of railwaay travel. St. Auyustitic AVk, April! , 18S9. ARK YOU SKEPTICAL ? If so wo will convince you that Ack er's English Remedy tor the longs is superior to all other preparations, and i a positive cure for all Throat and Lung troubles. Croup, Whoop ing Cough and Colds. We guaran tee the preparation and will give you a sample bottle free. O. Hooker, Druggist. Epoch. The transition from long, linger ing and painful sickness to robust health marks an epoch in the life of the individual. Such a remaxkable event is treasured in the memory and the agency whereby tho good health has been attained is gratefullv blessed. Hence it is that so much is heard in praise of Electric Bitters. So many feel that they owe their restoration to health, to the use of the Great Alterative and Tonic. If you are troubled with any disoase ot Kidneys, Liver or Stomach, ot long or short standing you will surely find relief by use of Electric Bitters. Sold at 50c. and SI per bottle at W. A.
