Raleigh Post : The increase of smallpox in the State is growing at an alarming rate. In Sunday's paper a case was rioted at Selma and yes terday another case was reported at Forestville, this connty. Both cases were imported Irotn Norfolk and the patients are negroes. II life Wall is the negro who brought the case to Forestville. He arrived there Saturday afternoon cn a fceaboad freight, having beat his way. He mingled around in the town before going to his home, a mile in the country. Dr. S. P. Holding was called in and diagnosed the cas as smallpox. Upon instructions by the bounty health authorities Wall was quarantined and a guard stationed at the house. Vaccine was sent to Forestville from the city yesterday for U6e in that vicinity. Not one child dies where ten formerly died from croup.
