Mrs. Susan WatgoD, relict ot the late Jones Waion, of Chapel Hill, died at the residence ot her bt other, Mr. John Laws, in Hilisboro, on Sunday, Deo 17th, between 3 and 4 o'clock p. m., aged about 72 years. While Mrs. Watson's health had not been good tor some time, her death was quite sudden, as she was up aud abvtit the house Saturday The funeral services were held from the residence M.day after noon, and were co ducted by Rev. E W Fox, her pastor, assisted h -.iRev H S Biadshaw. of the Presby terian church. The -a l bearers were: Henry N Brown. Sr., D. C. Parks, D H Ham ikon, Geo. A Durham and Joseph A. Harris The interment was in the new cemetery. C, aud iu eariy life was united in marriage to Miss Annie Iredell, iti Raleigh, N.. C, daughter of Governor Iredell. He ai, we suppose, nearer 88 years old, than 86, as is announced. Alter the death of Giles Mebane be was the oldest living graduate of the University of North Carolina. He graduated with the class of 1832, and was the best elocutionist and public speaker in the clasp. His death leaves us the oldest living graduate. Col.
