Died in Danville; Ga , on Wednes day, September 2, 1903, Mrs. John F. Holloway, formerly Amanda Ann Cooley of Hillsboro. N. C. She was born in Hillsboro Oct. 13, 1833, and was married to John F. Holloway, May 12, . 1857, by Rev. John W. Pearson, who wss then pastor of the M. E. Church at Hillsboro. Mrs Holloway moved with her family to Georgia in 1870. Three brothers, William, James and Joseph, and a sister, Mrs. M. C. Newton, are all of a large family of Hillsboro people who are left. Mrs. Holloway was a good woman, and had many friends in Orange and Durham counties who will regret to learn of her death. OIioiip Settlers Tiolcets. The negro was arrested while attempt ing to break in the window. It seems that Thompson had been suo ces8fui in entering and robbing the office twice before he was caught. He was tried before U. S. Commis sioner Frank Nash ad held in a bond of S500 for his appearance at next term of U S Court at Greens' boro, and failing to give it ho was committed to jail.
