This is an excellent nomination and will be hailed b such by every friend of freedom iu the District. M. Stkuart is the able tal ented Editor of the Steubenville Union, a paper which has under his control, done yeo man service for the Democratic cause. We! have known him.persdnaly, for a number of years, and have ever .found him a faithful exponent of the true principle of the Dem ocratic party. Let the Democracy of the District give him a united support and he will be triumphantly elected. A Man Murdered. . On Saturday night last about 8 o'olock, a youugman namd Isaac James, a moulder in Sharp b Craig's Foundry, waa brutally murdered. He had jad a tight at a ball on the previous Friday evcninir. and was hunting up his antagonist for the put pose of having it out. He came in contact with soma ot them on High street, near the U. 8. House Blows were interchanged between Mr. James and Wm. 1 rotter, who is a brother to one of! the party with whom James quarrelled on Friday night. James tried to make his escape but was beaten round the corner of the U. S House, where he was met by Marshal Doyle, who took him in charge. He had proceeded with him but a few rods when James fell. His wounds were dressed bv Dr. Sin clair, assisted by Dr. Hamilton.
