Army circles in Germany are much stirred up by a novel from the pen of Lieutenant Bilse, attached to the train batallion, in which things have been di vulged which have hitherto been regard ed as professional secrets. Dan Morrow, the well known Erie farmer, who was arrested a number of days ago, charged with giving liquor to minors, had a hearing and was dis^ charged in Justice Gearey's court this morning. The testimony adduced at the trial was to the effect that at the close of the harvest season, as was a custom with Morr»w, he gave his hands and those of the neighborhood a harvest jubilee stipper. This year, among other things, he provided a barrel of beer for the con sumption of his guests. They were ail grown men, who appreciate a little recreation of this character, and the af fair closed, the host apparently going down in history as a royal entertainer and a whole-souled fellow. Later a party who attended the Mor row blowout was arrested and bound over to the district court on the charge of giving intoxicating liquors to a minor. While in jail he notified the of ficers that he wanted to swear out a warrant for the arrest of Morrow on the same charge that he was arrested 011. He was taken to the state's attorney, where he made the complaint, which re cites among other things that Morrow bought and gave liquor to a number of minors, who were at his place on the evening of the harvest blowout. There was no evidence to substantiate his complaint and the accused was dis charged and the case dismissed. ^Pree Fuel, 000 Eiiofcstn's Qrsund Fleer Studio, PIHMM 664-L. N. P. Avenue. SHOULD HAVE A CANDIDATE. Towner News and Stockman: There is a growing feeling that the Eighth Judicial District is entitled to a place on the state ticket. That this district i4 entitled to a candidate on the state ticket needs but little argument. The large republican vote of Ward and Mc Henry Counties should be recognized and undoubtedly will, when the proper time comes for placing the candidates in nomination. There is an abundance of excellent official timber in this dis trict, and we believe with proper or ganization a place on the ticket can be landed. Major Murphy, the big and handsome political leader of Minot, is mentioned as an available candidate for state treasurer. The major will have the undivided support of the McHenry County delegates, if he concludes to tet ter the-race.
