Then there is the person who won't contribute because he doesn't like the preacher. He is often long on prayers but short on change. Many other classes of people might be cited who fail to give to the Lord, but the few examples mentioned will suffice. Of course all these different people are not found in the Hamilton churches, but they are found in the gen eral make up of church people. Nevertheless, Rev. Coomb's state ment is startling, inasmuch as it opens our eyes to the fact that persons who attend church are not doing as they should. When the attendants of so fine a church as the Hamilton Methodist Church is, fail to give i penny apiece for worshipping there, or hearing the word of God spoken, it is time they are confronted with the fact that to live, churches must have support. Without churches morality would soon become an extinct word, crime would become raifeparit and the sweetness of inno cence would be unknown. Among the several matters discussed' was the connection of the club with the Millers' Nationol Federa tion, the proposition to withdraw, made in September, being reconsidered and an action favorable to continuantion being taken. An effort is being made to ob tain, through federal legislation, the re moval of the obnoxious discrimination against American millers known as the London dock charges applied to jtio other country as they are against t)«^ United States. 4 The business we are doing since OUR SACRIFICE SALE V began will prove to you where to get bargains.
