Mayo. ri Rev. S. A. Hay worth: Last night through curiosity I went to the Nor wegian Baptist Church to hear Lon nic Lawrence Dennis, the boy evange list. I went expecting to see a strange freak of memorizing sermons and de claiming. I was completely surprised to note the ease with which the boy began a discourse on "The Star of Bethlehem." The boy exhibits mar velous reasoning ability and proves to the hearer that he is entirely original. He carries his own credentials which convince the most prejudiced that he is sincere. In listening to him the aud ience seems to forget that they are listening to a old boy and are at once enraptured with the Christ whom he is preaching. Curiosity dies away and 6ne sits s»nd listens with as much composure as if he were listen ing to a Beecher y a Brooks. The boy's talk produced a profound relig ious impression. To my mind he is the greatest marvel of the age. I ahv not paid for saying this either. He is a prodigy of premature development. He has massive brain and conducts the services with as much calmness as. Moody and his pungency of style and directness of appeal reminds me very much of that great evangelist except that he tells no stories outside of Scripture. He is well worth hearing. The traveling party consists of the boy's mother and Mr. Snowden, the advance agent, and his wife. Gold spectacles, $5 for Christmas gifts.
