Ed Hughes stated today that in his investigations into the prices charged for lignite coal, he has found that the $4 ier ton charged was for smalt qjUantities, one ton and under. He cited instances of orders of 300 pounds and up to a ton wefe given for delivery in the outskirts, and they have been delivered at that rate, even though the drayman has lost in the transaction. Mr Hughes says that considerably more coal has been sold at $3.50 per ton than at any other price, for lots of ten tons and upwards, and delivered as wanted by the consumer. HANNA'S BROTHER.
