Mrs. Ethel Martha Clarie, said to be wealthy and prominent in social circles here, was arrested today as she was about to sa»l for Europe on the Atlantic Transpdrt line steamship Minnehaha on complaint1 of William Stuart, an actor, who charges her with alienation of his wife's affection. In the affidavit accompanying the complaint Mr. Ttuart, who demands damages of $50,000, alleged that his wife was being taken to Europe by Mrs. Clarie against his consent. Missouri River Has Broken Up at Vermillion and Big Flood in That Section Is Expected Vermillion, S. D., March 6. A mammoth gorge has formed in the Mis souri river three miles southwest of Vermillion, and unless -it breaks to night water will be oflwing bver the low lands tomorrow morning. At Gunderson's bend, where the gorge formed two years ago, the water lacks eighteen inches of running over the banks. Five miles west of the present gorge the water ssaid to be falling.
