ISoGtotyNewal Annual High School Banquet Scheduled for Saturday Evening The various committees in charge ol the Junior-Senior banquet which will be held Saturday evening in the high school gymnasium have com pleted extensive arrangements for this annual affair. A splendid menu will be served under the direction of the refreshment' committee". Over 100 guest are expected to attend, includ ing members of the two classes and the faculty. Special decorations will feature and the entertainment com mittee has arranged a novel program. The next in the series of dances given by the Wednesday Evening Dancing club will be held Tuesday evening, March 7, in Commercial club hall. Dancing will begin at 9 o'clock. Elects New President. At a meeting Wednesday eveuing, of the senior class of the high school, Albert iL'lumer was elected president of the class, to succeed Stanley Al bertson, resigned. Mr. Blumer's elec tion was unanimous. To Attend Convention. At a meeting of the Mandan P. E. O. Sisterhood, held Wednesday after noon in the home of Mrs. C. L. Love, arrangements were made to attend the state convention which will be held in Dickinson in May. Lyceum Course. The fifth number on the Bismarck Lyceum Course will be Russell H, Conwell, Wednesday, 'March 15. For the present the Robley Male Quartet' is omitted. Date of the last number will be announced following the Con well lecture. Special Music Sunday. The Presbyterian church announces special music numbers for the Sun day services. In the morning W. Miller, tenor, will be the soloist, and the double quartet will sing. At the evening service the Bismarck Male Quartet will assist the choir. Candy Sale Saturday. Members of the St. Elizabeth Guild of St. George's Episcopal church will hold a home-made candy sale Satur day afternoon in the Hoskins' store. The sale will begin at 3 o'clock and last until 6:00. The young ladies, members of the Guild, will have a fine line of the many favorite candies on sale. (Meeting 'Well Aattended. The "Pot Luck" supper served by the auxiliary to the Ladies Aid soci ety of the Presbyterian church closed a very successful day of work by members of the society. This was the annual work day meeting and was held in the church chapel yesterday afternoon. A liberal donation of jel lies and remnants was given for the hospital committee. The husbands of the auxiliary members were guests at the supper. Rebekah Meeting Tonight. The Daughters of Rebekah will hold a regular meeting this evening at K. P. hall, beginning at 8 o'clock. All visiting IRebekahs are invited to be present. It is expected that arrange ments will be completed for the dis trict meeting to be hold in this city on the evening of arch 17. The dis tricts include the Jtebeka lodges ol Mandan, New Salem, Sterling, Wilton and Bismarck, ail of which will have delegations present. Hi Celebrates Birthday. In honor of her daughter, Arline's seventh birthday anniversary, Mrs. Charles Spitzer entertained at a pret tily appointed children's party Wed nesday afternoon, at her home in Thirteenth street. The guests includ ed '20 of Miss Arline's schoolmates and the children's games furnished the amusement. A birthday dinner was a feature and the appointments were carried out in pink. The young honor guest received many beautiful gifts. The hours were from 4 o'clock to 6:00. To Make Addresses. Dr. Fanny Dunn Quain. wife of l)r. E. P. Quain, left yesterday for Wim bledon, where she will deliver an ad dress on "Better Babies" at a meet ing today in the interest of "Baby Week," which is being conducted by the General Federation of Women's Clubs. She will go to Jamestown, where she will make a similar talk at a meeting Saturday in the observ ance of "Eaby Week." Dr. Quain is also interested in the movement in the capital city and will assist in the work here next week. Rambur-Kolb Nuptials. Miss Eva Rambur, daughter of Mat thew Rambur of Mandan, and Oswald Kolb of Flasher were married Wed nesday morning in the Mandan St. Joseph's R. €. church. The nuptial high mass was read at 6 o'clock by Rev. Father Timothy. The bride was attended by Miss Frances Froelich and Peter Kolb, brother of the groom, was best man. Mr. Kolb and his bride are spending their honeymoon in various Minnesota points. The groom, who was formerly connected with the Flasher State bank, has ac cepted a position with a bank in May ville, Minn., where they will reside. Literary Society Program. Each district of the four divisions of the Ladies Aid society of the Mc Cabe Methodist Episcopal church were well represented yesterday af ternoon at meeting held in the vari ous districts. Much enthusiasm was displayed during the business ses sions and plans were made for a gen erous appropriation towards the church property debt, which the gen eral Ladies Aid society of the church has undertaken to pay. The First district met with Mrs. George Wallace at her home in Av enue B. Twenty-five members were present and during the business ses sion the church debt appropriation was discussed. A pleasing program of music wsis presented by Miss Mc Leod and Airs. iH. H. Steele, sopra nos. Mrs. Wallace was assisted in entertaining b^* the .Misses 'Marian Goss and Mn'\ipric Moore. A social hour followed the program. Mrs. Hurry Clougli entertained members of Second district at her home in Sixth street. Twenty one member attended. Luring the business session plans were outlined for special work during the year. This part of the program was follow ed by a social hour. Mrs. Ilarvey Harris was the assisting hostess. The Third district met with Mrs. W. H. Richholt at her home in Sev enth street. Thirty members of the district were present and a very profitable afternoon was spent in dis cussing the work for the coining months. Following the business a so cial hour was enjoyed. The Fourth district met with iMrs. C. ,H, Olson at her home in Thayer street. Considerable business was •transacted during the business ses sion. Sons of Norway Planning for Big Meeting Here Christ Pederson of Fargo is in the city in the interest of the order of Sons of Norway. Mr. Pederson is the organizer for the state and will re main in Mandan and Bismarck for several days. The local lodge Sons of Norway is laying plans to secure the meeting of the Grand lodge for Bismarck in 1917. A delegation will be sent to the next grand lodge meeting, which will be held in Minol. next June, and an effort will then be made to land the 1917 meeting for the capital city. Mr. Pederson will be in Mandan this evening, where a large class of sturdy Vikings will be initiated into membership. Plans are on foot for a joint meet ing of Mandan and Bismarck to be held here Friday, March 10. It goes without saying that a good time will be had. The verein, which was organized four weeks ago, is planning to give a series of dances and other entertainments in the near future. Social entertainments will be featured by the organization.
