Moorhead, Minn., Nov. 20.—Ed Lodfi
ard, formerly agent 'in Moorhead of
the Heilman Brewing company, wa:i
scheduled to appear in the Moorhead
police court this afternoon, charged
with violating the county option act.
Lodgard was arrested about two
weeks ago. He was prominently en
gaged in the liquor business at East
Grand Forks, prior to his removal to
Moorhead several years ago.

law school faculty, when he becama
a nominee for the supreme court jus
tice job, has just come to light.
Messrs. Crawford and McVey took tho
view that retirement was in order

But, to each, .Mr. Birdzell gave de

to discharge him if they cared to do
r,o—but in the- meantime, he intended
to continue on the job.
Since his election to the supreme
court, Mr. BirdzeH has resigned from
the college law faculty, the same ef
fective with the close of the fail term
