Younger Dancing Set Gives Leap Year Party An interesting evcfnt of. last evening w^s the Leap Year dance given by a committee of the younger dancing set, composed of the Misses Winifred Knudson, Gertrude Barth, Madeline Cunningham qgd Eva Bond, in the Knights of Columbus hall./ The hours were from 9 o'clock t(/12:00 and twelve cQuples comprised the party. Hurley's orchestra nirnished the mu sic/Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knudson and Mr and Mrs. P. M. Wilson were the cftaperones. Reception to Be Smart Affair. One of the smart society events of the week will be the reception Sat urday afternoon given .by Mrs. W. L. Smith, Mrs. R. P. Flint and Mrs. J. L. Whitney, at the home of Mrs. Smith in Sixth street. P. Clinton, managed of the Stacy Fruit company, will leave Sunday night on No. 1 for Spokane,' Wash., where he will spend the Christmas holidays with his mother. Mr. Clinton will remain in the west until the first c? January. Visits Relatives Here. Rev.. A. W. Brown, pastor of the Carrington Methodist Episcopal church stopped in the city yesterday enroute to Center and while here was the guest of his nieces, Mrs. William V. Kiebert of Fourth street and Mrs. N. S. Jewett of Third street. Braddock Couple Weds. Wednesday evening' in the Presby terian church, Miss Archelene Mc Lachlan and Verne E. York, both of Braddock, were married by'Rev. H. C. Postlethwaite, the pastor. The serv ice was ,rend ht 7 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. York are spending some time at the Grand Pacific hotel, before return ing to Braddock. Announces Birth of Son. The fo&r divisions of the Ladies' Aid society of the McCabe Methodist Epis copal church met yesterday afternoon and, made their financial reports for the year. The societies are in a most flourishing' condition and the reportB Bhowed that they had far surpassed the amount pledged for the year. Mrs. W. V. Kiebert entertained the first di vision, Miss Jackson the Becond, Mrs. Georg^ Brown the third and Mrs. Ti tus the fourth. The attendance was large at each place. To be Large Society Event. Society is looking forward to the coming of the San Carlo Grand Opera company next Friday! and Saturday evenings and the matinee Saturday afternoon. IED CROSS mm is on MM The handsome pennant which will be given this year by the Anti-tubercu losis Association of North Dakota for the largest ules per capita of the Red Cross seal is on display at the Nielsen millinery in Broadway. It is made ot heavy black satin and is 22 inches wide aiid 30 inches in length. The asociation's emblem, a large gold shield, with a double cross ornaments the center. This inscrip tion in gold, letters "Awarded by the North Dakota Anti-Tuberculosis Asso ciation" is artistically inscribed arid a heavy gold fringe completes the orna mentations. The pennant was de signed by Mrs. Fanny Dunn Quain, sec retary of the state asociation and the decorative -work by William Wasley, a local decorator. Mrs. Niplson also asisted in the work. It will not be known until the first of the new year, when all the reports of the Red Cross seal sales will be re ceived by the association, to which city the pennant. will be awarded.
