A mass meeting of the citizens of Ardmore is hereby cnlled for this (Tuesday) evening at 8 o'clock. This meeting is for the purpose of selecting n committee to meet the representatives of the railroad with reference to their road runuing through Ardmore. Lint cotton sold to lay from 7.50 to 7.G2 12, while seed cotton brought as high ns 2 00 to 3.10. Cotton seed SlG per ton. The receipts for the day were about 300 bales. The wugon yards are already full of wagons of country people, who come iu to see the circus to morrow. They will briug every thing from cotton down to hen egg. Somo eight or ten montlu ago William Gilbert, it seems, bought some thirty-odd dollars worth of lumber from tho Chicknsaw hum ber Company, and l S. Hauseur, then president of the compauy, was forced to briug suit against Gilbert to collect his money. The account was placed in the hands of II. A. Ledbetter and he Biied him iu the city court and ob tained judgment. In the mean time Gilbert lived just about on the coporation line. Mr. Ledbetter wanted to levy on a buggy and a couple of horses be longing to Gilbert, and when he went out- yesterday morning, ac companied by Ohitf Booker, the bugpy was inside the limits, while tho horses wero browsing just out side tho line- Mr. Ledbetter said that ho iust simply rode around tho stock mid drove them into the corporate limj HjHr?! its of the city. Chief Booker then levied on the hores nnd buggy, nud they will be held until the debt is paid, or sold to satisfy the same.
