Tho Hate City Hosier' Mill, tho first knitting mill erected in Texas, burned this morning at 2:30 o'clock. Tuo total loss of building and contents is $1V 1500. Tho amount of Insurance car ried was $7,500. Tho flro alarm was turned In lion, tho neighborhood of the mill, and the (Ire department, which was engaged at a hay barn at 111) West Uaudy street, was delayed In getting to tho mill In time to o nny efficient work. Tho flames hail gained such headway when tho departmen arrived that tho department could save nothing. Tho machinery was valued at $10,- 000 and tho building at $3,000.
