As tho result of a gunshot wound received this morning while out hunt ows, somo seven miles west of this Poland, one of tho most prominent men of this city, will In nil prob ability loso tho sight of his right eyo. In company of a number of friends Mr. Poland was hunting In tho mead ows somo sevo nmilcs west of this city. The dogs pointed a covey of birds nnd tho party scattered to get a shot at them when they arose, ,hcn tho birds flow up, Mr. Poland who was hid in the brush stepped out to get a shot. At tho samo time tho birds circled towards him nnd J. II. Spraglns, a member of tho party, fired. Mr. Poland wag some forty or fifty yarda west of Mr. Spraglns when tho shot was fired. Ho received tho oontentB of tho shot 1n his breast nnd arm, only ono Hhot reached his face, this striking him In tho eyo.
