the death of Colonel Thomas II.

examining the stomach of Colonel
Swope, deceased, at Chicago. This
statement was given out here today.
John II. Atwood, an Attorney of
tills city, who Is ono ot the attor
neys of the Swope estate, last night
stated that a confirmation of the
minor that poison had been found
In the stomach of Chrlstman Swope
and that this caused the autopsy of
the late millionaire, Chrlstmau's un
cle. It Is stated by Atwood and
others Interested In tho Investiga
tion that It was known that Christ
man Swope's stomach contained poi
son before the body of the late mil
lionaire was exhumed last Wednesday.

Joseph Montz, a young farmer, shot
and killed his father, Alex Montz. this
morning at the Iicbhp of youn&r Montz
on a farm near Cameron.
Tho son, aged 111, who was a tenant
of his father, aged 07, had had trouble
with his 'fathor and had been ordered
to vacate tho farm.
When the old man went to his son's
hoiue this morning to Insist upon his
son's removal, they quarreled and
