Who won those free votes yester day? This question wKl be asked a thousand times and for the life of us we couldn't even guess as it would take some careful counting to determine who they were. But one thing we know and that is, It was a very close race Watch the paper eacn day, as we xpect to make some more announce ments that will ibe very Important to all of the contestants and they don't want to let any opportunity of securing extra votes go bv. Some people have asked us what chance the country candidates had against those in Ardmore. The country candidate really has the bet ter chance for they are acquainted with every one in their town and each town has a certain amount of pride and they would like (to see the candidate who is representing them In the contest, win the first prize. Any outside town, if they made up their mind ithey were going to see their candidate through, could win any of the prizes they desired. An other thing: Ardmore has as in amy candidates, according to tfhe -population, as any of the towns outside, so you see it is really about even. The outside candidates are not working against those in town, oniiy for the automobile. The finish of tiho contest Is often so close that only a few votes sep arate the leaders.
