Washington Star: Sir Frederick Smith "Galloper," as he is some times called in England got into difficulty now and then during his American visit on account of his fiery and ebbulient nature. "Galloper" Smith had an alterca tion with an Irish-American law yer at a trial that he attended in New York. The altercation became very warm. Finally one of the "Gal loper supporters said, with a sneer and a toss of the head toward the Irish-American. "Come away, Sir Frederick. Re member your rank." "Remember I'm what?' roared "Galloper" Smith, fiercely. In pursuance of the provisions if Section 8. of Chapter 226, I.aw 191", appli cation is hereby made for supplement!!! and additional appropriations with which to meet the legal and ordinary expenses of the City of Ardmore, Oklahoma, for the remainder of the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1918, and for an order cancelling certain appropriations, or parts hereof, heretofore made for said year. In support hereof, we do hereby certify: FIRST: Thut certain of the appropriations heretofore made are Inadequate to properly maintain the City for the current fiscal year, and that the public wel fare and needs of said City are such us to require for the remainder of said year, for legal and ordlnury expenses, the additional appropriations as listed and set forth by purposes and amounts in Exhibit "A" hereto attached and made a part hereof. SECOND: That the financial statement hereto attached, and marked Exhibit "R," shows as of the close of the month next preceding the flllntc hereof the true and correct fiscal condition of the (lENKRAL FUND of said City; and that the surplus revenue of S17.UC0.H5. us shown in said Exhibit, is available for and out of which to make the additional appropriations herein requested; THIRD: Thut the appropriations as listed In Exhibit "C hereof, aggregat ing $10,000.00, are for purposes leas urgent and Imperative than the additional needs herein presented ; WHEREFORE, request Is hereby mode than an order be entered, cancellinff the said appropriations; and that the revenue so released, together with the above stated surplus, making? a total of available revenue of $'J7,li(i0.S5. be applied and appropriated to the several additional and supplemental purposes as set forth In said Exhibit "A" hereof.
