The largest crowd vet attending the carnival thronged the streets and the public squnre last night and crowded the many attractions of the New Parker Amusement company, all joining in one grand night of revel ry, and enjoying the beauties of scen ic productions, the delights of bar monious strains, the gaiety of a bril liant scene and the pleasure of en tertaining devices that are provided by the Retail Merchants' Association for this annual occasion. The nature of the Carnival attrac tions now here is better understood than when the carnival first" arrived It has been demonsrated that the New Parker company is not a cheap combination of rough and rowdv at tractions, but is a well organized well constructed amusement company, presenting only those productions that are proper for ladies and chil dren, and the best people of the city have joined in the pleasures of carni val week, that they may see and en joy. A number of social parties were out, young men with favored maidens, older ones with their wives, and ma trons with life partners, untbei-ed in congenial numbers and made the round of the various attractions, be ing enraptured by theaseenic beau ties. The animal circus is drawing big crowds. There are 125 trained wild and domestic animals in this attrac tion, and the intelligence that is shown by each individual beast ap pmaches almost the possibilities of the human mind. The ponies, the dogs and the bears please the women and the children immensely.
