The republican party of the city of Tulsa stands for clean, honest, economical and efficient city government, and we believe the elective officer-, of this city and their appointees should rep resent all of the citizens, all classes and all of the people; administer the law and perform every duty without fear or favor, with equal rights to all and special privileges to none. We declare for the rigid and uncompromising enforcement of every law against crime, and especially do we pledge the full power of the administration in abolishing the so-called "boot legging" joints, gambling .joints, immoral dives and criminal resorts, and the arrest and prose rution of those engaged in bootlegging, gamb ling and other forms of vice and immorality. W e declare and pledge that the full power of the administration will be especially directed against automobile stealing, and every effort of the public safety department in full and com plete co-operation with the county, state and civic organizations will be directed against, and tised in the arrest and prosecution of such crim inals. Wc pledge our candidates to the most rigid, practical and efficient inspection antl correc tion of the sanitary conditions of every part of the city, insofar as is consistent with the pro visions of law and funds available for such pur poses. We declare in favor of demanding and requir ing that every public service corporation oper ating in this city shall, without delay or evasion, comply strictly and literally with every obli gation to the people, in the conduct and exer cise of every franchise or privilege affecting tho public welfare. We declare in favor af pure water for the peo ple at a reasonable rate and pledge our candi dates to honest, practical, efficient management of the "water problem," by and with the super vision, adice and co-operation of an advisory board of seven members to be selected from and by the various welfare units of the city, to the end that every dollar of expenditure shall be for full value received and free fom taint of graft or extravagance. We declare in favor of increasing the salaries of our p'.blic school teachers, compatible with the dignity and importance of their profession and with the increased cost of living. We favor adequate school biddings; and the strict en forcement of such laws and ordinances as will secure to our chool children the greatest possi ble comfort, safety and protection. We declare in favor of a metropolitan system for the public safety department, wherein quali fications for employment shall be efficient serv ice, loyalty to established law, prompt obedi ence to constituted authority, and term of office measured by merit only, uninfluenced by politi cal favor.
