Just put yourself in the place of the child that cannot tell the name of its father. Try to real ize what your feelings toward society would be if you had known this finger of scorn to be pointed continually at you from childhood days till now. If you have a heart you can and will know that the unfortunates of this world are not all cripples nor orphans; that the term truly includes those unfor tunately born. The Salvation Army is conducting under the gui dance of a committee of Tulsa business men, an ap peal to Tulsa people for funds to carry on a human itarian work unparalleled by any other organiza tion of its kind. The local corps of the Salvation Ar my is asking for $9,500 as Tulsa's share of the funds necessary to build the State Salvation Army Rescue Home and Maternity Hospital. There un fortunate girls may find refuge and there the good offices of the Salvation Army will do all possible to effect the marriage of the girl and the man in the case. There the poor girl can give birth to her child in de cency ancUthere she may tay until she is able to support her little one. THE SALVATION ARMY NEVER SEPARATES A BABY FROM ITS MOTHER. And the only requirement for admis sion to the Hospital is the agreement by the litle mother that she will not part wih her baby nor leave anything undone to raise it up to be a respectable citizen. In addition to the $9,500 required for the state ma ternity hospital $3,000 is needed to assist the local corps to carry on its efficient work among, the poor people of this city. And the third point of the Sal vation Army's appeal is the need right here in Tul sa of a home where working girls can live at a rea sonable cost. All of these features are worthy of the support of every man, woman and child in Tul sa. You will be called upon to aid in this great work. When the committee's solicitor calls dig deep and give all that you can.
