tho verdict rendered against the
Hope Natural Gas company was
about tho largest ever returned in
tho district court In Tulsa.
The suit originated on account of
tho defective, plant built by the Hope
Naturnl Gas company for tho Selby
peoplo on tho Ixiuderdale farm near
Cleveland, Okla., which plant has
since been Junked, robullt nnd re
designed and Is now In operation
and is considered a good money
maker. Tho National Product
company, well known Pittsburgh con
cern, of which Perry Ijiughtner and
associates are the principal owners,
In operating It now nnd is doing it
most successfully.
Tlio principal cause of action was
that the Hope Natural Gas company
hail utterly failed In Its endeavor to
build a plant equipped with the Hay
bolt process for the manufacture of
gas from caslnghead gas. It was
brought out In tho evidence that the
Saybolt process for extracting cas
lnghead casoi no rrom natural gas
Uh Installed by the Hope Natural Gas
company, which has patents of Its
own that are being used In connec
tion with this process, is not n suc
cess.
Tho verdict rendered by tho Jury,
which took only one hour to reach
a unanimous agreement, carried
with It tho entire amount asked for
by the Helby people, after adding In
terest which had accrued, and tot
